I am so over this clean living

Day 22 of #365healthydays here is today’s post – all about ‘being so over this healthy living’. You know, you have been living on point for aaaages now, you have instgrammed every poached egg with avocado that you ate, you feel great, skin is clearer, energy is up, digestion is better, you are living the dream! And then all of a sudden you’re like ‘hmm, smoothie for breakfast. Again?’ And you’re thinking if you see another mason jar salad for lunch, you might cry, nothing is that exciting anymore and you have settled into a ‘healthy rut’. Well first things first, that is a better rut to be in than most! And then think back to before you were as healthy as you are now – you probably ate much the same thing every day then too! Don’t give up, don’t think ‘oooh one won’t hurt’ (because if you’re like me, one is neeeever just one and suddenly you are knee deep in regret and purple snack wrappers 😂). NOW is the time to make it stick – don’t make it so you have to start again!! Check out some new recipes, maybe try a new vegetable, maybe try to incorporate something you haven’t before (like more fish or a veggie dish), try a new sauce or new spice, make a healthy version of a dish you enjoyed (there are lots of healthy curries, cauliflower crust pizza, healthier fish and chips recipes, just google!). This also doesn’t mean you cannot have balance – if you would like a glass of wine on a Fri/Sat night then you should be ble to have one, it will not negate all your healthy efforts (read: a bottle of wine umfortunately will!) Or maybe you are out at a great restaurant and you don’t want to be gluten/dairy/grain/joy free – as long as you are not actually allergic to any of the ingredients, you might experience some bloating/discomfort if you are intolerant to dairy/gluten etc. but one meal won’t kill you ! Nor will a slice of cake at your kid’s first birthday party. However, reaching for the vending machine change at 3pm in the office is not good. Neither is thinking ‘ah I’ll grab something for breakfast/lunch tomorrow,I don’t need to prep’. It’s a slippery slope back to the hot chicken roll and youre not in college anymore 😂 Stay strong, stay consistent, keep prepping and you will be the healthiest legend in all of the city !
