BARRE IN THE CITY

Barre in the City is the fastest, most effective way to change your body. In just 50 minutes, you will achieve a full-body workout, targeting all those areas you struggle with in traditional workouts – hips, thighs, waist, abdominals, arms and seat. We use Pilates, Ballet and Yoga techniques in a low-impact workout which protects your joints. We isolate the muscle group and take it to fatigue and then stretch, in order to create beautiful, long, lean muscle without bulk. The Barre technique works by tapering the body in and lifting everything up!
The concentration involved during a class allows you to switch off from the world, to block out ‘life’ for an hour, creating mental benefits similar to meditation or yoga. We don’t think it gets much better than a transformed body and a clearer head in just one hour (no pounding the treadmill for miles on end required!).
Like every workout at Flex in the City, the Barre technique is intelligent exercise. We sculpt, chisel and reshape the whole body in an efficient, effective and safe way. No two classes are the same – we always use the barre but we will also incorporate small props such as flex-bands, small balls and light weights to add resistance and intensity (not during your first class!).

Please note: Barre in the City classes are suitable for pre-natal clients but we strongly recommend booking in for a Bump in the City class first – this is a 30 minute one-to-one session with a Flex in the City instructor to learn safe, effective modifications for your pregnancy exercises.
