Barre is the fastest, most effective way to change your body. In just 50 minutes, you will achieve a full-body workout, targeting all those areas you struggle with in traditional workouts – hips, thighs, waist, abdominals, arms and seat. Our method, which incorporates Pilates and ballet inspired exercises has been proven as a highly effective low impact workout, protecting your joints while creating beautiful, long, lean muscle without bulk. The Barre technique works by tapering the body in and lifting everything up – we work each muscle group to fatigue (think shaking thighs and a quivering seat) and then we stretch it, to improve flexibility. The format of the class will be the same every time but the exercises will always be different so your body is continually challenged and you never get bored. The focus involved during a class allows you to switch off from the world, to tune out of ‘life’ and into your body. This is your time for intelligent exercise at it’s best.  We don’t think it gets much better than a clearer head and a transformed body in under an hour – come and see for yourself.

    Where should I start?

    Q) New to barre?
    A) All our barre classes take place in our PENROSE WHARF studio. You can start right away with any of our barre classes. All our classes are mixed level so you don’t need any experience in barre or in dance – if you can hold onto a ballet barre, you are ready for barre! We offer modifications throughout the class to make this more challenging or more manageable, depending on your level – and trust us, the day you are ready take the more challenging option and you nail it, you’ll feel like a rockstar! Be sure to inform your teacher of any injuries you are working with so she can offer you modifications specific to your body.

    Q) Can I do barre while pregnant?
    A) If you have previously taken barre classes with us then continuing to workout while pregnant has some huge benefits, you’ll just get some modifications for exercises that will suit you and your growing barre baby a bit better! If you have not taken barre classes with us previously, it isn’t advised that you take up a new form of exercise while pregnant. Make sure to book in after you’ve had your little bundle of joy though, and we will help you look and feel stronger than ever before.
